The Barcelona Arbitration Court (TAB) offers an abbreviated arbitration procedure for small and medium enterprises, which lasts two months - a fraction of the time taken by normal arbitration procedure, which takes six months - and reduces the usual cost by 30% to make it more competitive for SMEs. In addition, for the first time in Spain, the parties are invited by the arbitrator at the conclusion of the hearing of evidence to submit an agreed solution to the dispute

In Spain, 98.9% of companies are covered by the label SMEs, i.e. companies from 0 to 250 workers. The Barcelona Arbitration Court (TAB) aims to adapt to this economic reality and modify procedures and costs for small and medium businesses by offering a fast, skilled and neutral form of dispute resolution. The simplified procedure allows SMEs to focus on economic growth by enabling them to devote fewer resources and less time to solving conflicts, thus removing burdens from the past.
