Honours for TAB members Antoni Vives Sendra and Francesc Tusquets Trias de Bes

Two members of the TAB have been publicly honoured by leading institutions in the legal sphere: the Spanish Ministry of Justice has awarded the Distinguished Cross of the Order of Saint Raymond of Peñafort, First Class, to Antoni Vives i Sendra, while the Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación de Cataluña [Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Catalonia] has named Francesc Tusquets Trias de Bes as an Academician.

24th Anniversary of Barcelona Court of Arbitration (TAB)

The Barcelona Court of Arbitration dealt with disputes worth 69.9 million Euro in 2012.
The TAB recorded a year-to-year increase of 30% in the value of arbitration disputes from 54 million Euro in 2011 to 69.9 million Euro in 2012.
The types of arbitration most sought were those involving financial rights, constituting 30% of cases, followed by corporate and construction issues, at 17% and 14.4% respectively
The President of the TAB, Jesús de Alfonso, pointed out that the future of arbitration is to resolve conflicts in the Cloud. The challenge is the elimination of paper.
